Sharadotsav, also known as Durgotsava, is the grand autumn festival celebrating the Hindu Goddess Durga, symbolizing the victory of good over evil, particularly prominent in West Bengal and Eastern India as Durga Puja. It’s a vibrant socio-cultural event featuring elaborate pandals (temporary shrines) with Goddess Durga’s idols, traditional rituals like pūjā and arati, culminating in the immersion of idols on Vijayadashami (Dussehra).
