The Indian National Library was opened in the year 1836, built by the British Government during Colonial rule. It is built on a huge land, as big as 30 acre. But, beyond the treasury of books, inside Kolkata’s National Library, it is popular for its eerie tales. A lot of visitors, locals, and even historians have mentioned ghostly experiences they had there. There’s no doubt that the National Library is indeed no less than a treasure. It has grand halls, towering arches, dusky shelves and over 2 million books. Based on the stories the locals say that the air even grows colder when you climb the staircase there. There was a visitor who even claimed that he felt icy fingers graze his neck, but as soon as he turned around, nobody was there.
