Professor Shonku Sipper-Bottle

Professor Shonku, created by Satyajit Ray, is a renowned Bengali science fiction character (Trilokeshwar Shonku), a brilliant inventor living in Giridih with his cat Newton and servant Prahlad. Born in 1912, he is a physicist, linguist (fluent in 69 languages), and polymath who creates incredible, futuristic gadgets. he is a prolific inventor who often creates devices to solve complex problems or for exploration. He resides in Giridih, India; assisted by his servant Prahlad and accompanied by his cat, Newton. Some famous inventions include the Miracurall (a cure-all medicine), Annihilin (a weapon), Air-Antir (a gun for flying), and his robot assistant, Bidhushekhar.
Adventures: The stories, often told through diary entries, follow his international travels and encounters with scientific mysteries, including a journey to Mars. He is depicted as deeply ethical, intelligent, and a patriotic Indian with a deep respect for ancient Indian culture and global scientific knowledge. Ray based the character on Arthur Conan Doyle’s Professor Challenger and his own father Sukumar Ray’s character, Hesoram Hushiar.
